Founder of Voices for Voices®, Justin Alan Hayes Season 4 Episode 334

We confront fear, refuse hate, and choose to protect the vulnerable | (Episode 334)

A raw, unscripted conversation with author and survivor David Solomon that refuses to look away from the hardest questions: What do we protect when we choose silence? What do we become when disagreement turns into dehumanization? David returns with personal updates—including becoming a new father—while confronting the backlash that followed his public stand against human trafficking. He speaks candidly about threats, blacklisting, and the emotional toll of telling the truth when powerful people want it buried.

We explore the difference between justice and vengeance, and why “turn the channel” is wiser than turning to violence. From lived experience, David maps how selective empathy corrodes equality and how tribal outrage blinds us to the vulnerable in front of us. He makes the case for a harder path: protect children, tell the truth when it costs you, and practice forgiveness that frees you without erasing the harm. Along the way, we interrogate policy, policing, and cultural narratives—how media attention shapes what we see and what we ignore, and how fear and cynicism keep us from acting when it matters.

This is a plea for agency rooted in faith and shared humanity: measure your life by the lives you lift, disagree without contempt, and call someone you’ve written off to say you’re glad they’re alive. If you’re ready for a challenging, heart-level listen about trafficking, truth, faith, and the daily practice of courage, press play. If this moved you, share it with a friend, subscribe for part two, and leave a review to help more people find their way here.

Uh for this episode, uh, we wanted to uh give some updates uh on uh one of our uh one of our guests that uh we've had on. Um and it appears that there's some uh some information that uh he would like to share uh during this particular episode. Uh so he's gonna be doing most of the talking. And I want to welcome back David Solomon uh to uh the Voices for Voices TV show and podcast. Thanks for joining us again, David.

David Solomon:

It's always a pleasure. And uh, you know, to to anybody who listens to Voices for Voices, this platform gives so much power to people that have none. So please listen to the prior episodes. This episode's gonna be a little different. It was really heavy on my heart with what's going on in our country. I had the honor of meeting with some people tonight, um, and uh and just hearing what's going on, and I wanted to address some things and give us some updates and kind of give a little hope. Um, so it's gonna be a unique episode, so you're not gonna want to miss it. Um, before we start, I just want to say thank you to our incredible host who has dedicated his life to being a voice for those that have none, for mental health, for disabilities, for victims, and for survivors, and has put everything on the line for not just people like me, but people possibly like you who are listening right now. And so I just want to say a special thank you, Justin, for what you do um on this podcast, first of all.

VoicesforVoicesJustinAlanHayes:

Yeah, you're welcome. That's uh something that we talk about often about um you know higher power. I feel this is God's calling uh for for me, for us to uh do what we're doing with voices for voices. Uh and so I can't see myself doing anything but what we're doing. So thank you uh again for that, David. And uh feel free to jump in and uh just get us kicked off.

David Solomon:

Yeah, so you know it's amazing the climate of where we are today. If you don't like someone, shoot 'em. And that's a reality that we're in right now. If you don't know me by now, I'm the ghostwriter of Sound of Freedom. I've written over 410 novels, and I've written and ghostwritten over about 200 different TV or movie projects. I wrote my first novel, which I will re-release when I was six years old for everyone to see. And man, my heart is so heavy because I got called tonight that I was gonna be the next Charlie Kirk because of what I took a stand for. When I wrote that film Sound of Freedom, and when I write these stories of surviving human trafficking, I wrote it because children weren't for sale. And I got crucified for it. In fact, most of you know that were uh that were facing the the beast were facing the the beast that uh I spoke out against. And it puzzles the mind why a Christian writer and a Christian writing group would let such activities of children going for sale be publicly known and just let it go. What happens when you know something is going on and you don't speak up? That's what we're here to talk about. So a little bit about me, if no one knows. I survived human trafficking in the year 2012, and I've been public from day one about what happened to me. My case was covered up. Now the police have come out and said it happened years later. But it's more heartbreaking for the other people involved and the other survivors and the other ones that didn't get away. My heart is heavy. My heart is heavy. Can you imagine that we are wishing death on people just because we don't like them? Someone wished death on me. I wanna I wanna share an update that uh that I have a I have a newborn child now.

VoicesforVoicesJustinAlanHayes:

Congratulations.

David Solomon:

Thank you so much. And it really opens you not as a only a writer, but as a man of God, as a father, as a husband. It really gives you new perspective on life and a new purpose on life. To the comments that Amanda's mom made towards my newborn. You are part of the poison that killed Charlie Kirk. And to the Bryans out there, the Scots and the other people. You are the poison that is killing innocent people Just because someone doesn't like what the other says means I shoot 'em. What logic does that mean? Where do we get that from? So much hate in the world. You know, if I don't like a TV show, I turn the channel. If I don't like a song, I turn the video. If you don't like Charlie, then don't attend. If you don't like Charlie, then don't listen. If you don't like Charlie, then don't watch. So many of my friends in Hollywood tonight are are just so happy Charlie's gone. It doesn't matter if you're right or left, it doesn't matter. We're all human. This goes back to the black lives matter. You know, let's go back to that for a moment. Why do black lives matter when the Korean lives don't, when the Native American lives don't? We get it. Black lives were hurt, but so were they. So does that mean that the blacks get to step on the other races? And you talk about being a voice and telling your stories of the slavery that you endured and the abuse, and it's true, but what about them? So you have to make movies about you to put others down so you have a moment in the spotlight. But what happened to equality? I thought you guys were LGBTQI plus. The translation of that is screw you, this is about us. When I was six years old, I was chosen for a purpose to become a writer by God. And that is the moment when I knew that I was gonna be a writer. When I wrote my first story. First screenplay, first novel. And I knew at a very early age that God was real. And to this day, I've never drank, I've never touched drugs. I've never partied, I've never slept around. And I've kept my body a temple of God because he anointed me at six years old on that day. So hear me when I say this. By wishing death on another person is wishing death on you. It doesn't matter your religion, it doesn't matter your sexuality, and it doesn't matter your race. The way I was raised was if there's a black guy who is suffering, you help him, and if there's a Korean person on the street and they need a shirt, will you help them? But if there is a white person that needs help, will you help them? Or a Native American, then you help them. The Bible says that we are all God's children: red, white, black. He loves us all. We all live on this planet and we are all part of the human race. We are not alien from another world, we are from right here. We all come from Adam and Eve, we all come from the same creator. When did we go astray and say, I'm better than you? Why have we come to this political moment where it's okay to hurt people because we don't like what they say. What moment have we come to? Why have we come to this? God has blessed this country. And we we have wasted that blessing. We've abolished God out of our schools, we've let go of our faith. We've made fun of God, we've mocked God in our own language every day. It's oh my God, out of our own mouth. What happened to the fundamentals of this country? What happened to the idea that this is God's country and God's land and God's people? Or did we forget there's a saying that says one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Not because people did wrong, but because bad people chose to mull over good people and take those people for granted and take advantage of them and then run the city with corruption and violence. Do you know the reason why ICE is in Portland tonight? It's not because they're going after illegals that are made at a hotel. It's because they're going after monsters that take advantage of good people and traffic and lock children up in their basements. Because I was one of those people locked up by an illegal immigrant in Grants Pass, Oregon. And that is what ICE is doing. Do you see ICE in Miami or Pensacola or Virginia Beach? Do you see them in Maine? Do you see them in Texas? I don't see them in Houston. I don't see them in Dallas. I don't see them in Fort Worth. I don't see them in Austin. I don't even see them in Arizona or Utah or Colorado. I see them in democratic states because policies have been made to cover up corruption and politics aside to hide an agenda of crime. But people didn't like that being called out. People didn't like that there was one man who listened to God in the Ruckus and said, Enough is enough. I want to tell you what God told me. Repent and go the other way before it's too late. Because, brothers and sisters, we are coming to a world where there is going to be an end, and you're going to have to choose. And I'm sorry to tell you, but there is no gray. There is black and there is white, and that is the end of it. You cannot serve two masters. You cannot serve God and the devil at the same time. You either serve him or you serve Satan. You can say that you're a Christian, but you don't know God. Because it's one thing to say you know God, but it's another thing to follow God. I can have a Facebook page where I'm a fan of an actor, but it's one thing to be a fan of the actor, it's another to message him and follow him. What TV are we watching? Are we just following the flock? Are we following what everyone says? Are we even listening to what this person who died even said? Or are we making things up because everybody's saying that? Let me ask you guys a question. If your child goes into Portland or Seattle or Chicago and they get mugged on the way to the car, wouldn't you want to put an end to that? And 911 can't get there because they're too overran by crime going on by these groups of terrorists. Domestic terrorists at that, but just as bad as Al-Qaeda and ISIS. Wouldn't you be happy that someone actually gives a darn and is doing something about it and saving lives tonight? Politics aside. Why are we standing in the way when bad people are trying to be arrested? Why are we trying to be the problems? Why are we protesting out there? Don't come after them, protect them when they are taking your children. Why are we doing that? Why are people hating on people when they don't know the story? Karen, Amanda's mom, wished the death threat on me, saying that she knows my story. She doesn't even know a thing about me. She knows what my trafficker has said. She knows what people have said, but she has never taken the time to actually listen to my story. Or her sister, who wished death on my child. Because that's my child. Why have we come to a world like this? The person that took me calls me an evil liar, a pathological liar, just like Charlie. Or my favorite, Mindy Davis. Who's been talking to a dear friend of mine. We lost contact long ago, but we reconnected for a minute. Spreading lies just so you can make someone look bad. Spreading lies just so you can have a moment in the spotlight and be better than someone else is what that was about. Or just pure hate, which is also demonic. You know, I have tried to be a Christian, forgive my trafficker publicly, and move on. But they could not accept that. It fathoms it it just it makes me f just boggled how we got here as a country. And then people hating on Justin because he's being a voice for those that have none. People that love him are hating on this man. Because he's making a difference in people's lives. He's saving lives. People are jealous of him because he's making a difference and they're not. Because he's actually doing something. People hate on my wife because she left the situation to better herself. And her own mother insults her with death threats? Come on. Can't we just be civil? Can't we for one second put our politics aside, our races, close our eyes and hear each other and say, it is so good to know that you are alive. Thank you for being here today. Can we just do that? If you have a family member, or if you have someone that you don't know, a stranger, or you have someone that you don't get along with, why don't you call them up after this podcast? Why don't you just say, you know what? I know we don't get along, I know that we've had our differences, but I just wanted to let you know, I'm glad you're alive. Why don't we start being part of the solution and not the problem? Why don't we take the next step in human evolution and make a choice of where we're heading? Because right now we're heading towards killing our own race by our choices. What have we come to? Why are we here? I didn't do it to have a moment in the spotlight. I could have had that moment in the spotlight. I couldn't do that knowing that something was going on in the shadows. And you never have something go on in the shadows and hide it. The Bible says, bring it to life. And I did that to the Christian leader of this organization that runs the publishing world, that runs all your Christian publishing houses and says it's deflammation of character. Do you want to know what deflammation of character is? Look at what you are doing. Because if you've done this to me, you've done this to other people. I didn't do this for fame to have my own publishing house with Justin. I did this to be a voice because me and others got blacklisted because we spoke out and said children are not for sale. Period, boom, explanation mark, and I've met so many people in the last few days that have encouraged me to come on here and talk about these issues because these are this is not okay. And whether you're one of Justin's friends or Brian's friends or my family's friends, I don't care who you are. Be human. Love on your enemies, be thankful they're alive. You never know what someone else is going through. You know, the person that trafficked me, Brian, for a long time I wished him dead. And my mom watched it eat me alive. That's why I had to forgive him publicly, but not forget what he did. The hardest thing I've had to do is look that man in the eye and do that. But I did it, and God blessed me with my wife, God blessed me with my career ten times over. God blessed me with his light. And my ministry and Justin and Voices for Voices. God blessed me to use this platform to be a voice for those that have none. But I wanted him gone because of what he did. My mom, she wanted him too. She forgave him, just like Charlie Kirk's wife forgave the man who took her husband. If she can forgive the shooter and not wish death, then why are we wishing death on people we don't like? That's not Christian, that's not even human, that's not democracy, that's not democratic, that's not republican, that's just rebellion. And rebellion comes from the angels that got kicked out of heaven because they wanted to be the gods, they wanted to rule heaven, they wanted to be God. Is that what we're coming to? Bully you, I'm gonna be better than you. Is that what we're coming to? So anybody that speaks the truth, oof, is that what we're coming to? There's a shadow on the United States right now. It is a demonic shadow, and it is engulfing everybody from the inside out, and it is eating them alive, and you are all blinded because you have glasses on and you can't see the light of what's going on. Do you know what's going on in Hollywood right now? Look at the movie stars, look at how skinny they are from a month ago. Look at what goes on with the pizza in Hollywood. You think this is a game? You think this is funny to laugh about? You think it's conspiracy? It's not. Go die, blah, blah, blah, and not even know me. I know what Charlie felt more than ever. Because when you speak the truth, you will always get attacked. And you will move mountains. But to move mountains, you have to climb the mountain, and that's heavy. Because some people they don't want that mountain moved. If you want to make a difference, you're gonna have people that want to shoot you. And you have to not live in fear. Fear not so many times. Fear comes from the devil. You know, there was a missionary once in Africa. They called me because on my mythical creatures page, a witch doctor came to God and told him to go to church. They said, You have no business telling a witch doctor to go to church. I said, well, why not? Well, because he's going to put a spell on us. Oh, so you're afraid of him? Well, yeah. Oh, so you live in fear. You're on a spiritual battlefield and you're afraid? Did you forget your armor? I don't have armor. Oh, so you're on vacation? No. I'm in church. Oh, okay. So you live in fear and you preach to the people that you want, but when it comes to the sinners that need Christ, the people that have been lied to by Satan and enslaved by demons, well, you're not comfortable with that. So they can go rot in hell eternally. That's the world we're living in. Fear. God says don't have fear of today or tomorrow because we're not promised tomorrow. We're not even promised today. We're just promised the moment that we're alive. You better get it right. Because you don't know when your time will come. What have you done to make a difference in this world? How can you better this world? How can you be a light and shine and be remembered in a place of history? What a powerful moment watching Charlie, watching the world react the way they do. What a powerful moment to know that all these Christians are being killed in Africa tonight, a manslaughter, and no one's talking about it on mainstream media. What a powerful moment that a church got shot up and children died today. What a powerful moment that people are killing Christians because they're pissed that Charlie Kirk is dead. And so there are more Charlie Kirks out there. Let's kill them. Who are we? We're monsters. We're not humans. We're animals. To wish someone dead is the worst thing you can do. And I'm speaking to Mindy Davis. I'm speaking to Karen. I'm speaking to Angela. I'm speaking to Scott. I'm speaking to Brian, James, Shiloh, Sarah, Quinn. You wished me dead. You wished my child dead. All because you don't like me. Turn the channel. Turn the page. Don't like me. But don't shoot me. Don't shoot the messenger. Which is what we did to Charlie Kirk. We shot the messenger. Do you know what's so funny? We did that to Jesus Christ. Because he said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. Because he was the Son of God. Because He was here for us. And we killed Him. We put Him on that cross. He did not put Himself on that cross. We put Him on that cross. And yet He said, I forgive you and I pay the price. So you are alive today. Why are we wasting our life away? And you say that, oh, Christianity is just a religion. Well, what if there was a man who shot you in the parking lot and you were with your daughter or your son coming from soccer practice? And that man took a bullet for you and said, I die so you live. Remember me, because you've been given a second chance. Go do good with your life. What would you do in that moment? You're given a second chance. Would you waste it? Would you go to the bar and get drunk and high and on drugs? Would you repeat history? Or would you change? And would you become a new you? Folks, we are in a moment of history that is changing. We are watching the Bible come to life with AI. We are watching what's going on in the White House in real time. We are watching Ukraine and Russia, China, Israel, the Holy Land. And you're trying to say the Bible's not real? And then my favorite part: the people that say the Bible's not real go out of their way to make sure the Bible never gets shown in Hollywood. They go out of their way to mock Jesus Christ. Nicholas Cage's new movie does just that. It's a whore movie about Jesus. So let's tell everyone that Jesus is not real and the Bible's not real. Oh, and by the way, we're gonna mock it. Well, you just told everybody it it's real because why would you go through all the trouble to block the Bible if there wasn't truth to it? Why are we removing the Bible from schools if there's not truth to it? Why are we censoring Christianity if there's not truth to it? What are you so afraid of? It's just a religion, right? It's just a dumb book, right? It's just a dumb book with some historical evidence. That's right, right? So that's why you're destroying it. That's why you're killing people in Uganda tonight. That's why you're killing people in South Africa tonight. Thousands of people have died in South Africa. A big massacre. One of the biggest massacres on the continent of Africa happened tonight. But you're not hearing about it.

VoicesforVoicesJustinAlanHayes:

And we gotta talk about it. We gotta go because we're ending um towards the Zoom. So we're gonna come back with a part two. So stick with us, check out episode 334, and uh come come back again.
